A Deltec "1911" .45 semi-auto handgun is a perfect choice in self-defense firearms. It appears to be identical to the real life M1911 Pistol. While it lacks range and firepower of rifle or shotgun, it still allows the owner to put up a decent fight at medium range, and it can be easily slipped into a backpack when not in use. It can be found somewhat frequently around the Detroit Megacity, rarely found while scavenging elsewhere, and on sale at Junk Market. Without the Ranged skill, it is identified as a Pistol.
It can be loaded with up to seven .45 pistol rounds of two types, either FMJ or JHP. Total damage potential is roughly equal for both types of ammo, but FMJ ammo causes severe bleeding wounds and minor bruising, while JHP damage is more balanced between the two.
When used as a melee weapon the pistol causes moderate bruising and occasionally bleeding wounds. As with all melee weapons, this attack is much deadlier in the hands of a combatant who is Strong and/or skilled with melee weapons.
