Crafting in NEO Scavenger involves combining various ingredients (items, abilities and tools) in the crafting screen to create new items. This can be done with or without paper crafting recipes.

Since v0.971b items are listed by their properties. A single item can have several properties and several items can have the same property. For example, the medium tree branch has the properties medium, fire fuel, flammable, rigid, shaft, springy and tannin source; while twigs & bark have the properties small, kindling, rigid parts and tannin source as well. Thus, multiple combinations are possible to achieve the same end result. For instance: a torch made using a crowbar instead of a tree branch will still look like it was made with a branch, but the game remembers the ingredients used, and the crowbar can be recovered later.

Some items used in crafting will be consumed, while others can be used multiple times (usually with some condition loss). Crafting recipes can be found in the game world or learned by experimenting. Either way, the recipe is added to your known recipe list once it is picked up or successfully crafted.

A few notes regarding the recipes on this page:

  • Recipes marked with (R) can be reversed.
  • Items marked with (T) are used as tools; this means they aren't consumed in the crafting process, but in most recipes their durability is reduced.
  • Tools and skills are required to reverse recipes, unless otherwise noted.
  • The central column shows the number of moves (or partial moves) required for crafting.
  • Move the cursor over the properties or click the little arrow to see a list of all items with this property.
